Grow Unbound

Created to Create

I’m Jeffrey Scott Martin. A developer, multimedia designer, storyteller, and philosopher-engineer, creating digital experiences that serve people, honour truth, and are guided by a vision of renewal.

A Digital Communications Studio
in Bowmanville, Ontario

Through the Grow Unbound Studio, I partner with organizations, ministries, and businesses to shape clear, thoughtful digital communications, from websites and platforms to visual storytelling, systems, and tools. My work spans design and development, strategy and execution, with a focus on accessibility, longevity, and human-centered outcomes. With years of experience building for public institutions, non-profits, churches, startups and community organizations, I bring both technical depth and discernment to each project through listening carefully, designing intentionally, and building solutions meant to serve people well over time.

Before the Work: How I Approach Digital Systems

Every project begins with care.

Websites and digital systems are no longer static artifacts, they are living interfaces, read by people, interpreted by machines, and increasingly navigated by AI. That reality changes how responsible digital work must be done. I take time to plan carefully, to understand the purpose of a system before shaping its form, and to ensure what we build serves both present needs and future contexts.

I approach each project with an emphasis on accessibility, performance, and ethical design. This includes building experiences that are usable by as many people as possible, respecting assistive technologies, and optimizing for clarity, speed, and efficiency. Where appropriate, I aim for top Lighthouse scores across performance, accessibility, best practices, and SEO, not as a vanity metric, but as a sign of thoughtful engineering and restraint.

Just as importantly, I work with the understanding that today's digital communications are increasingly consumed, summarized, and indexed by AI systems. Structure, semantics, and intent matter. I design and develop with this in mind; ensuring content is understandable, durable, and prepared for a future where machines play a larger role in how information is surfaced and shared.

This work requires slowing down in a world that rushes. Careful planning allows us to communicate clearly, build responsibly, and create digital systems that remain useful, humane, and trustworthy over time.

Beyond the Web: Video, Print, and Motion

Digital communication extends beyond websites alone.

Many projects call for stories to move, to be seen, or to be held, through video, animation, or print. I work across these mediums with the same care I bring to web systems, ensuring each piece is purposeful, accessible, and aligned with the larger message it supports.

This includes short-form and long-form video, animated explainers, motion graphics, print materials, and visual assets designed to live both online and offline. Whether a piece is viewed on a screen, shared socially, projected in a room, or printed and placed in someone's hands, the goal remains the same: clarity, restraint, and coherence.

Motion is used deliberately, not to distract, but to guide understanding. Video and animation are structured to communicate meaning, not just momentum. Print is designed with readability and longevity in mind, ensuring materials remain useful beyond a single campaign or moment.

Across every medium, I aim to create work that feels considered. Communications that respect attention, reinforce trust, and serve the people they are meant to reach.

Destination British Columbia — Interactive 360° Ski Experience

Creative Director & Full-Stack Development

This project brought Destination British Columbia's winter tourism campaign into a fully immersive, interactive format — transforming a mobile advertisement into a 360° ski experience that placed users directly on the slopes of Whistler Mountain. As Creative Director and Full-Stack Developer, I led concept, design, and technical execution, shaping an experience that blended storytelling, motion, and performance within the constraints of mobile advertising environments. Built and delivered in a two-week sprint, the project leveraged real panoramic imagery and WebGL to create a tactile sense of place, demonstrating how emerging web technologies can elevate brand engagement beyond static media. The result was a one-of-a-kind campaign that showcased British Columbia's landscapes through interaction rather than illustration, earning industry attention and press coverage.
